Load coal, ballast, ore, slag, etc. and dump it by remote control! Body tilts, sides lower and contents slide out. Heavy die-cast chassis. Bin, artificial coal, control units, etc. included. Car is equipped with railroad type Knuckle Couplers. 6 3/4″ long.

Gilbert produced the American Flyer Operating Dump Car from 1953 to 1956. The car was designed to simulate a coal dump car. The operator would pull the car up using a locomotive would use a track clip and remote control button to activate the car. The car would then lift up and dump the contents into a rail yard. Originally the American Flyer Dump Car 919 would have come with track clip, control button, plastic bag with artificial coal,and metal coal tray.
