American Flyer Double Trestle Bridge 754

The Gilbert American Flyer No. 754 Double Trestle Bridge was one of the products manufactured by the Colber Company for Gilbert. Only cataloged in 1950, 1951 and 1952 it provided the only dual track bridge offered by Gilbert American Flyer for the S gauge train line.

Introduced in 1950, the No. 754 Double Trestle Bridge provided the ambitious layout builder with the ability to double track over an obstacle. The red warning light was a socket with a red bulb.

The description indicates a red warning light on top of the bridge. No simulated concrete piers included. Shares side piece embossing with the American Flyer Double Trestle Bridge 753. The catalog image has tracks shown on the bridge but they end abruptly without continuing after the bridge deck into the background picture.

In 1950 the No. 750 was cataloged along with the Colber manufactured No. 754 Double Trestle Bridge. In 1951 the No. 750 was not cataloged but the No. 754 shows in the catalog. In 1952 both Colber manufactured bridges the No. 753 Single Trestle Bridge and the No. 754 Double Trestle Bridge (now equipped with revolving beacon lights) were in the catalog – the No. 750 Trestle Bridge still missing. In 1953 both Colber bridges are missing and the No. 750 Trestle Bridge returns to the catalog.
