American Flyer Automatic Uncoupler 694 Instructions

American Flyer produced four primary types of couplers over the year and had variations among them. Unlike the Lionel magnetic uncouplers that emerged in later years, the Gilbert American Flyer couplers were mechanical in nature. The uncoupler mechanism was connected to the transformer and had a remote operating button that could be pushed to cause the train to disconnect from the box car.
