American Flyer Locomotive 283 & 287 Parts List & Diagram

For one year only, the 287 version of this locomotive was offered. However, the 287 lacks smoke and choo-choo and was an effort to produce a low cost Pacific type locomotive for introductory sets.

This is the service bulletin furnished by the A. C. Gilbert Co. to authorized service stations to aid them in the service and repair of American Flyer equipment. Specifically, this bulletin is for the American Flyer Locomotive 283 & 287 Manual.

Try Portlines Hobby, Hobby Surplus Sales or Leventon’s Hobby Supply. Alternately do a search on ebay for the number 283 in S Scale trains – bodies show up there from time to time.
