American Flyer Remote Control Switch 720 Operating Instructions
These are the installation instructions furnished by the A. C. Gilbert Co. to customers to aid them in the installation and operation of American Flyer equipment. Specifically, this bulletin is for the American Flyer Remote Control Switch 720 Installation instructions.
Gilbert produced about 16 different types of switches. There were essentially three types – Manual, Remote Control, and Three Track switches. The American Flyer Remote Control Switch 720 would be considered the remote control varietal. Switches were designed to enable trains to switch tracks. They are ideal for creating rail yards or hooking up multiple railroad lines on your layout. Left and right switches indicate the direction that the switches operate. The 720 switch was sold as a pair with left and right switch. The operator would need to wire the switches from the transformer and the push button. The 720A version would have had an extra button for further operator control.
