So you have an old Gilbert American Flyer Train Engine that is broken or needs service. This page will provide you an index and links to the appropriate original service manual. You may also be confused by the American Flyer numbering system. Apparently in the dawn of the computer age, Gilbert bought an IBM system for computerizing inventory etc. In the process, they were forced to adopt a 5 number scheme instead of the traditional 3 number scheme. Hence why many of the model numbers changed yet the product was essentially the same.
